Recently there was a music video that took the parody world by storm – “I’m Sexy and I Know It.” This is the type of song I would never sing…unless I was being silly and dancing around the house like a freak of nature.  Not that I would ever do such a thing. *Cough* The song is really rather vulgar. And I would NOT recommend watching the video…unless you think Speedos are sexy. Pardon me while I go gag.

Anyway, there was a SMART girl who decided to make a video called “I’m Pregnant and I Know It.” If you haven’t seen this video yet, go watch it. It’s pretty funny. 😆  On You Tube you can be “ANYTHING and You Know It.”

My friend Tia, from Sweet T Photography, suggested that Barry and I make a video with the same song and call it, “I’m Debt Free and I Know It.”

As you might guess, this tickled me to pieces. We had SUCH FUN making this music video…and let me tell you, I got some WEIRD looks at the gas station – and a few times I was worried about getting mugged for my $20.

Barry is the voice you hear in the video – he sang it…and he’s pretty good if I say so myself. He put everything together and I wrote the lyrics.  So, enjoy.  😀

We’re debt free….and we KNOW IT.

*Those of you on mobile devices will need to find a computer to watch.  Because we used an official karaoke soundtrack, YouTube placed some restrictions on viewing the video on mobile phones or televisions. :(

  31. Oh my gosh! Stacey! Ya’ll are such ‘hoots’! The rhythm and beat, and his voice…!!! Great job!!! Cash is the only way to go!!! And to be debt free, wow!!! We’re ‘getting there’. We no longer have any car payments, yay! Our mortgage will be paid off in less than 14 years, yay! We do everything ourselves,…. yay? Love your video and thanks for sharing! Blessings from Bama!

    • Doesn’t your car drive so much better? :-)

      • “Doesn’t your car drive better” sounding just like Dave! My neighbor just bought a brand new Lexus, because the transmission or engine went out in his El Camino, and his Corvette “only holds socks and underwear.” He claimed days before buying the new car that he didn’t really want a payment, and next thing I know there’s a new Lexus in the driveway. He told me his lame excuse about the El Camino, and I told him what Dave says-that a car drives better with no payment behind it, but my neighbor apparently likes to impress people with his fancy cars and debt :-)
Loved your video, and motivated me to stay on track with Dave and FPU!
        Thanks so much!
PS I saw your video on FB on Frugal Sally’s page :-)

        • Frugally Sally is a sweetheart. :-) And yes, they DO drive better. And I also think that people are more impressed when you’re debt free…much more impressed than they are about your car payment. LOL

  32. This is AWESOME!!! And totally made my day :-)

  33. Awesome! Good job, you guys!

  34. That is hilarious!! I can’t tell you how much that made my day!!! Thanks!

  35. Wow. That’s all.

  36. Claudia S says:

Bravo! very inspiring and I am really enjoying your posts!

  37. My dd2 and I watched this together and in her words (while she danced) “I like this, she’s funny!!!”

  38. Oh my goodness! I love you guys more and more with every post. Y’all make my day!

  39. Rebecca says:

  44. Stacy,

That was terrific. I loved it.

Recently you did a post on it was enough to “do your best” and I commented to you that day that your message came just at the right time because our house was on the market (notice I said “was”) and I was busy with my editing job at home and hardly had time to try and keep the house in “show view,” and that people were coming to look at the house that afternoon.

They did. They bought! The Lord did so many miracles in the sale; it was amazing. Now we’ll be spending the summer in an apartment (here in Montana), while we build our pole building house on the same land with our family, including four granddaughters in Idaho – with CASH! The mortgage was the last debt to go.

Thanks for all you do. Even though I’m busy (as most everyone is), I always read your posts.

    Love from
Roxy in Montana (soon to be Idaho)

    • Roxy, that is AWESOME!!!!!!!! I’m so happy for you! Thanks for telling me. :-) I remember your comment.

  45. SO cute Stacy!!! I love it!!! Lol yes, send it to Dave! He would love it!! 😉

  46. Stacy, that is funny! You did your role so well, I would have been embarrassed since I’m not much of an actor, lol! LOVE it!

  47. Hysterical! You are too cute for words.

  48. This video is great! My first time here and I would love to be debt free! Actually, that IS my top goal this year and I’m failing at it ;-(

  54. Stacy, I love your posts, and your sense of humor! Really enjoyed the video. We should be debt-free early next week when we sign the papers to sell our house. Very emotional–but we are soooo looking forward to being debt-free again! Hey, who knows, maybe we will make our own version of your video? Ummm, actually, no, I’m not that brave—-but I am sure we will be doing some screaming and dancing around! Thanks again for taking the time to share a bit of yourself with the world via your blog. 57. I’m so glad you linked this up! Once again, I almost missed a video because I check my feeds in the mornings and don’t want to wake up the kids with the noise. So funny! <3 you!

    Working Kansas Homemaker (.com)

    • I did finally send it to him. But I imagine he gets so much email that he’ll never see it. :-) Thanks Nicole!

  62. Stacy – what a CUTE video!!! I didn’t know what to expect, but I couldn’t help but smile through the whole thing. You and Barry (and Annie) are sooo cute!! We did TMMO and paid everything off, which allowed us to purchase our house back in 2010 (first home, 15 years into our marriage with three kids). We’ve gotten a little bit back in debt, plus the house… but we are dusting off our FPU stuff and getting gazelle again! Found your blog, somehow – and feel very inspired! Thanks for sharing!!

    • Cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeetaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh!!! :-) You run from that cheetah girl. And if you need any push, you give me a holler. :-)

  63. Leah Johnson says:

  64. OH. MY. GOSH! I LOVE IT!!!!

THIS is so how i’m going to announce my freedom from debt. No words. Just this and facebook :)

    Great job!!

  65. Hi Stacy 😉

I’ve recently discovered your website/blog etc. and I’ve been so inspired by you. My husband and I are working towards getting debt free ourselves! I can’t wait until we can say “WE USE CASH!” We’ve actually been on the right track as far as credit cards go, we haven’t had a credit card in over 5 years. But we still have debt. Some unemployment and taking new jobs/paycuts have hurt us but we’re getting there. Two years ago was rough for us, we both lost our jobs, forced to take lower paying jobs. But I started couponing and we’ve saved so much. We used to spend 400$ or more in groceries each month but I’ve shaved that down to under $150 a month, sometimes less!!! We also lost our home to foreclosure and filed bankruptcy. But we have vowed this year and the years to come are going to be different. We’re saving $$$ in our savings account and lots of it for the first time! Thank you for being such an inspiration. Right now I’m focusing on paying our car off, taking those savings from groceries and applying it to the car to get it paid off!!! And the next house we buy we’ll be buying it with CASH! No financing for us!!! I look forward to the day I can sing along with you, I’m Debt Free and I Know it!!

  66. LOVE it!!!!! Great job – and Barry has a great voice! I’m going to see/hear Dave Ramsey tonight in Knoxville!

  67. Stacy, That video is just precious. You and your family brings such joy and knowledge to so many people. Thank you for sharing. Being debt free truly makes ones life so much better.

  68. theresa gianna says:

    love it!

  69. Oh my gosh, I love this video! With Dave Ramsey’s system, we have eliminated half our debt and should be debt-free in the next two years. When that happens, I’m totally celebrating by dancing to this video! LOL You should send this to Dave!

  70. May Bohon says:

This is hilarious!! Already sharing it with others & can’t wait to sing it ourselves! Our goal is to be debt free by Christmas 2013! :)

  71. You can do it! Holla!
