By now you guys know that I have The Black Thumb of Death. I can’t grow anything…except mold and children. And dust, does that count?
This time of year is very hard on us Black Thumbers. We want vegetables, and it’s hard on us seeing all our friends grow beautiful tomatoes and green beans while our veggies wither and die a horrible death in the back yard.
Fear not! Follow me on over to Keeper of the Home where I’m going to tell you exactly how I procure veggies…no thievery involved.

Boy, do I wish you lived near me in North Carolina. I would hook you up with produce. My garden is overflowing this year and I can’t can/freeze/dry everything. There are only so many hours in a day. I keep trying to find a few “suckers” to take some of it off my hands. LOL.
I loved seeing your new home! Thanks for showing us around. And to think that you are this young and debt free—-what an acheivement! Congratulations! Hope Barry is doing ok this week after loosing his dad. Prayers for you all.
For when you decide to try gardening again: backtoedenfilm.com It will change your life!
Likely all gardening projects will be that of Barry’s. LOL I’m thinking about bricking over my entire flower bed.
My family has been to U-picks twice – once for raspberries and once for a variety of vegetables. My eldest is hooked – and even suggested going to a U-Pick one day during our Staycation in August. Sounds good to me!! I love U-picks because you get to meet somebody new who usually loves to talk about their farm, and you get veggies cheaper, and higher quality usually, than the grocery store! And of course, you can’t beat supporting someone local.
When I was little, part of our family income was a you-pick strawberry patch.
