Barry and I are coffee snobs. I’m not really sure how that even happened. When we were first married, we mostly drank instant coffee. I was couponing and surely wasn’t going to pay the big bucks for high quality stuff – nope…the cheapo stuff worked for me!

But then, something happened. I had a cup of COFFEE. The good stuff. My life was changed. I could never look back. Hello world, and good morning cup of joe!

I’ll just go ahead and say that we don’t even like Starbucks coffee. Mainly we don’t like the FiveBucks price, but we think McDonald’s coffee is better. Shocking, I know.

Phoenix Community Coffee

We were contacted by Phoenix Community Coffee to test their coffee out and see if it was something we would like to promote. I said yes, right away. I mean, it’s coffee right? Who wouldn’t want a free cup of coffee to try!?

But then, I was totally blown away by the cause. Not only is this coffee made from pure awesomeness, but when you buy a bag you’re actually supporting SOMEONE – not some COMPANY. Phoenix Community Coffee works directly with the coffee growers – insuring proper working conditions and appropriate payment.

Once these farmers are paid a fair wage for their coffee – they are able to pay their workers a fair wage. It’s a cycle of relief. Because these farmers are making a decent living, they are also able to fund relief efforts in their own areas.

Phoenix Community Coffee helps support relief efforts against sex trafficking, homelessness, and they also support single mothers in need. If that’s not a good reason to buy coffee from them, I don’t know what is.

Phoenix Community Coffee

This coffee is some of the best I have ever had. In fact, after just two pots of coffee, Barry and I decided that we were Phoenix Community Coffee drinkers.  Period.  We’ve had the other stuff, and this is way better.  GOOD COFFEE…mmmmmmmm.

The smell of the beans and the taste of the brew is so good – I get excited to wake up and brew my coffee every day. Plus, they offer lots of options in roasts and flavors, in both regular and decaf.

Let’s talk price – this coffee won’t make you go broke. In fact, it’s even less than a lot of the other “high quality” coffee I was buying – but I’m supporting a great cause at the same time! Win-win for me.

Phoenix Community Coffee

A lot of the time it can feel like there are too many causes to support – or that some causes are using the money they get for paying for advertisements and CEOs and picket signs. It can be easy to just throw up your hands and say FORGET IT!!!! I’m not giving to anyone!

Switching the kind of coffee you buy is just a small way to help those in need – and fill your belly with some of the best coffee EVAH.

For 10% off of your $50 order, use code stacymakescents. Valid for the first 50 people. Expires 12/12/13.

If you have a coffee lover in your family, this would make a fantastic Christmas gift using the coupon code above!

NOTE: I am an affiliate with Phoenix Community Coffee because I like supporting this cause. If you don’t want to buy using my link, that’s Jim Dandy fine with me…I’m still gonna buy my coffee there. ;-)
